The Hopewell Valley junior firefighter programs recently revived a long-standing tradition with their first valley-wide competition since 2019. Junior members from the Hopewell Fire Department and Pennington Fire Company participated in a series of firefighter-themed challenges designed to test skills, teamwork, and problem-solving while building camaraderie between the neighboring departments. Events included turnout gear drills, rescue scenarios, forcible entry challenges, and a water-based finale. While Pennington’s junior firefighters earned the overall victory, organizers emphasized that the true success was bringing young firefighters together, strengthening relationships, and fostering the next generation of volunteer firefighters who will one day serve the Hopewell Valley community.
